Leaping

eWeek reports that LongJump is offering SLA's for its Database-as-a-Service product. They are guaranteeing 99.999% uptime and security.

$19.95 per user and $49 per 50MB after an initial 50MB... per month. The pricing sounds a bit steep. What does the total record storage mean? Do they have to be 1k records? Are there no datatypes? Up to 24 hours to add more space... in 50MB increments.

However, it is good that they are addressing some of the concerns companies are bound to have with as-a-service services.
